Founded in Dallas by Justin Schoellkopf and James Mason, Four Rivers Capital is a private equity and commercial development firm built on precision, local expertise, and disciplined execution. Since inception, the firm and its principals have capitalized and developed more than $3 billion in real estate assets, establishing a reputation for creating value in complex and competitive environments.

  • JAMES MASON

    CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

    As a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Four Rivers, James brings over 25 years of experience including owning investment grade real estate and forming Mason Properties, Co., where he focused on tenant representation, developing single tenant build-to-suits and managing existing joint ventures of income producing properties. Prior to Four Rivers, James was a real estate manager for In-N-Out Burger and lead their expansion and roll-out outside of California where he oversaw site selection, sourcing of development opportunities, contract negotiation, and financial underwriting. Additionally, James was a real estate manager for Taco Bell (Yum! Brands). Before In-N-Out and Taco Bell, James was a Development Partner with Mays & Company, specializing in single tenant build-to-suits for national retailers including Firestone, Tractor Supply Co. and Office Depot. As a Development Partner, he was responsible for managing development personnel and streamlining the process involved in single tenant development for entitlement, design, leasing, and construction.  James developed over 180 projects in 15 different states. And before joining Mays & Company in 2005, James worked for United Commercial Realty (now CBRE) where he specialized in tenant representation working on such accounts as Kmart, YUM! Brands (Taco Bell, KFC, Long John Silver’s, Pizza Hut & A&W Burgers), Eckerd Drugs, Tractor Supply Co., Firestone, RaceTrac and surplus disposition for Wal-Mart.  Mr. Mason received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is a member of ICSC, the Oak Lawn Committee and a licensed Texas Real Broker.

  • JUSTIN SCHOELLKOPF

    CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

    As a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Four Rivers, Justin brings over 20 years of real estate investing, developing and brokerage services experience to the team, including owning investment grade real estate and founding The Schoellkopf Co.,  a real estate brokerage and investment firm. Prior to forming Four Rivers and The Schoellkopf Co., he was Vice President of Retail for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Southwest Retail Division and Senior Associate at SRS Real Estate Partners (formerly Staubach Retail Services). Justin has many long-term relationships with retailers that include Nike, Inc., Subway, CVS Health, Safeway’s, Tesla Motors, Verizon Wireless. While at Revere Commercial Realty, Justin gained a strong background in healthcare representation, representing over one million square feet of medical office space. Justin attended the Hankamer School of Business and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University where he majored in both Real Estate and Management. Justin received the Master Negotiator Award, given by the Dean of the Hankamer School of Business for recognition of outstanding performance in Negotiations and Conflict Resolutions. He is a member of NTCAR, ICSC, The Real Estate Council, The Oak Lawn Committee and volunteers as a board member of Seed Effect and advisory board member of West Dallas Community School

  • ROBERT CLARK

    CFO & PARTNER

    Robert brings over 15 years of financing and syndicating  experience to Four Rivers. As Partner & CFO, Robert oversees all planning, implementing and managing of all financial-related activities of the company. He plays a strategic role in the FRC Genesis Fund and overall management of the company. Prior to joining Four Rivers, Robert served as Associate Vice President within the Oil & Gas Division of the Wells Fargo Energy Group where he was responsible for structuring, underwriting, and syndicating credit facilities for midstream companies ranging from smaller, private equity backed companies to large publicly traded entities.  While at the Dallas office of Wells Fargo Energy Group, Robert was a member of the only relationship team specializing in non-IG midstream financing opportunities where he helped manage and grow a portfolio of over $2Bn in commitments.  Additionally, Robert was a Financial Analyst for Wells Fargo’s Energy Group in Houston, TX where he focused on Reserve Based Lending solutions for upstream energy companies.  Robert attended the Terry College of Business and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia. 

  • MATT BURKHEAD

    DIRECTOR

    As Director of Asset Management & Operations, Matt oversees the closing, due diligence, and asset management processes at Four Rivers.  Prior to joining Four Rivers, Matt was an Escrow Officer at LegacyTexas Title where he was responsible for managing and closing real estate transactions.  At LegacyTexas, Matt developed and maintained strong relationships with real estate professionals while navigating the complexities of various transactions. Prior to joining LegacyTexas Title, Matt worked in the petroleum industry as a Business Development Manager and Analyst specializing in acquisitions and divestitures.  Matt analyzed and developed solutions to cleanse and enrich land data and recover revenue on non-operated assets. Matt attended the University of Arkansas and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

  • KEITH HERMES

    VICE PRESIDENT

    As Vice President at Four Rivers, Keith is responsible for assisting management with financial analysis, portfolio management, underwriting, and capital market activities. Prior to joining Four Rivers and during his time at Southern Methodist University, Keith held internships at Stonelake Capital in Dallas, as well as McCord Development in Houston, where he assisted the teams in evaluating potential investments across all product types. Prior to business school at Southern Methodist University, Keith was a Process Engineer and Project Manager for construction manufacturer Master Halco where he oversaw production operations of their largest manufacturing plant in the country.  Keith received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Louisiana State University, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business with Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate concentrations. At Southern Methodist University, Keith was a member of the Folsom Institute, and he also participated in the Real Estate Practicum that partnered with local real estate firm Crow Holding’s Multi-family Group. Keith is an active member of ICSC, The Real Estate Council, and the Knights of Columbus.

  • RYAN SLOMA

    ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT

    As a Assistant Vice President at Four Rivers, Ryan is responsible for supporting management in the processes of underwriting and financial analysis, market research, and asset management. Ryan also manages asset acquisition and disposition process from sourcing and due diligence to execution and exit. Prior to joining Four Rivers full-time as an Analyst and during his time in school, Ryan held an internship at Four Rivers where he assisted the FRC Genesis Fund Managers with investment activities. Ryan attended the Naveen Jindal school of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. There he received a business management degree with a concentration in real estate investment. While attending the University of Texas at Dallas, Ryan was a member of the UT Dallas Real Estate Club and a student athlete as a member of the UT Dallas Baseball team.

  • KATHLEEN MORGAN

    SENIOR ASSOCIATE

    As a Senior Associate at Four Rivers with a focus on asset management and accounting. Kathleen Morgan brings over eight years of commercial real estate experience across property management, financial oversight, tenant engagement, and new development onboarding, including Four Rivers project - Weir’s Plaza. Kathleen has led sustainability and operational initiatives across multiple assets, securing numerous green building certifications and implementing strategies that reduce operating costs while enhancing building performance and tenant experience. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado and holds the Certified Manager of Commercial Properties (CMCP), WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP), and Fitwel Ambassador designations. Kathleen serves on the BOMA Greater Dallas Board of Directors and previously served on the BOMA Texas Board of Directors. She is active in Government Affairs, advocating for commercial real estate policy and industry initiatives at the local, state, and national levels. Her leadership has been recognized with the 2024 BOMI International Rising Star Award, the 2024 BOMA Greater Dallas Award of Excellence, and the 2022 BOMA Greater Dallas Leader of Tomorrow Award.
